While it feels like we’ve been in the midst of wedding planning forever now, I seriously cannot believe we’re less than 6 months out from our big day!
Where has the time gone?
As the planning ramps up and the details start coming together, we get to focus on more of the fun, aesthetic-related components of our celebration. And one of the first things on our list was designing our Save the Dates, which we created using Basic Invite. We wanted our Save the Dates to set the stage for our big day and they didn’t disappoint!
I was introduced to Basic Invite by a coworker who was deep into wedding planning by the time Dazell and I got engaged. She was the most detail-oriented and creative bride-to-be I’d ever met, and I could tell that her big day (which was a few weeks ago) would be incredibly beautiful. So when she mentioned she’d used Basic Invite for her Save the Dates and invitations, I couldn’t wait to investigate.
And let me just say, it was one of the best wedding-related recommendations we’ve received to date—we created the best save the dates ever!
Want to learn more? Here are 4 reasons I loved our experience with Basic Invite!
1) Tons of layouts—including magnets!
I’d been dreaming of sending out save the date magnets since before we’d gotten engaged. I loved the idea of seeing our wedding announcement on the fridges of friends and family members in the months leading up to (and even after) our celebration.
Basic Invite has so many (over 1,000) great magnet templates and we were able to find the perfect template to highlight our engagement photos.
2) In-theme invitation suites
After we aligned on the general design of our Save the Date, I was really comforted to know that our choice would easily pair with our formal invitations when the time came. Basic Invite has over 900 invitation suites featured on their websites, which made it easy to select Save the Dates with our future stationary needs—invitations, wedding programs, customized coasters and thank you cards—in mind.
Now that the date is approaching, I know exactly which designs we’ll be using for our next round of printed materials!
3) Working on the little details
Once we picked the perfect template, we added our photo, the wedding information, and customized every detail to meet our needs. The Basic Invite design tool has over 180 color options and dozens of fonts we experimented with before we ordered.
Best of all, after putting our creative skills to the test, we got to refine our design with the help of Basic Invite professionals. Through a few rounds of proof review, we signed off on our design and submitted for ordering.
4) Time savers: envelopes details!
Lastly, the envelope options Basic Invite offers were above and beyond what we’d imagined! Not only are there more than 40 different envelope colors we could use to accent our Save the Dates, but the free addressing option was the best *insert hand clap emoji*!
Once we collected mailing information from our guest list, I simply uploaded it all into my Basic Invite account and printed names and addresses—including our return address—directly on the envelopes.
These pre-printed, easy-seal envelopes made our mailing process seamless!
